OVERVIEW

Mid-Pacific's Global Exchange Academy (GlobalX) seeks to influence the lives of students in the U.S., Asia, the Pacific, and beyond through a blended learning platform that offers traditional, experiential, and certificate-based courses. Through Mid-Pacific's GlobalX programs, students from elementary age through adults have access to a robust academic portfolio to pursue their passions and advance their academic, co-curricular, and professional goals through summer school, community-based learning (internships/externships), and other innovative and engaging programs. Programs range from credit-bearing courses to less formal explorations of the performing arts, athletics, robotics, culinary, and community-based problems, as well as explorations into inquiry-driven projects. GlobalX works in tandem with Mid-Pacific's Kupu Hou Academy, the school's professional learning department, to offer opportunities for teacher candidates, teacher leaders, and school leaders to sharpen their craft of deeper learning through professional development programs tied directly to GlobalX student programs.

JOB SUMMARY

Working in partnership with the Director of the Global Exchange Academy (Director of GlobalX), the GlobalX Innovations Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing and evolving all GlobalX programs, with a primary focus on the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of GlobalX's Summer Programs. This position requires strategic vision, organizational excellence, creativity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. A deep understanding of how GlobalX can expand and enrich a learner's Preschool to 12th-grade continuum or professional portfolio is essential.

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in Preschool to 12th-grade program management and new program development, particularly in seasonal or short-term educational programming such as summer sessions.

Strong communication skills are necessary to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside of Mid-Pacific. The ability to lead collaboratively in dynamic team settings and manage high-impact projects across departments is essential. A firm belief in deeper learning principles and progressive educational practices will further support the Manager's efforts to build fiscally sound, mission-aligned programs that resonate with learners, families, and the wider educational community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Duties

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of GlobalX and Global Exchange Academy Extended Learning Programs Manager (GlobalX XLP Manager) to ensure programmatic and communication alignment.
  • Identify areas for program growth throughout GlobalX, including the development of full credit courses, certificate courses, and other extended learning opportunities.
  • Support fellow GlobalX colleagues to envision GlobalX program expansion and opportunities for the summer, school breaks, and academic year programs.
  • Provide input into the creation of and then operational oversight for current and new programs with an eye on logistics and fiscal solvency.
  • Ensure superior customer service to students, parents, and employees of Mid-Pacific.
  • Work with colleagues to build the GlobalX brand in the local and global community through participation in working groups, forums, and other marketing and public relations activities.

Summer Program Management/Administration

  • Lead the preparation of GlobalX Summer Programs class catalogs.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the campus-based principals and assistant principals to identify GlobalX Program needs to support the Mid-Pacific school-year program.
  • Collaborate with Educational and Information Technology departments to ensure that all teachers, students, and parents/guardians are equipped with the accounts, technology tools, and training required for successful program participation.
  • Collaborate with all departments across Mid-Pacific to ensure all logistics of Summer Programs are coordinated smoothly and communicated clearly, keeping all campus teams informed, aligned, and prepared to support program needs.
  • Monitor program revenue and expenses to ensure financial targets are met, and adjust operations as needed to maintain fiscal health.
  • Approve and track expenditures related to staffing, supplies, and activities.
  • Develop internal and external marketing strategies to promote registration for all programs.
  • Track program enrollment and grow bright spot courses.
  • Organize/establish registration schedules and registration materials.
  • Survey faculty and community regarding new program ideas and evaluate for financial and academic solvency.
  • Assist with program marketing, branding, and public relations.

Recruitment, Hiring, and Supervision of Faculty and Staff

  • Lead the recruitment process, including screening applications and conducting interviews to identify qualified candidates for GlobalX Summer Programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for GlobalX Summer Program positions by regularly reviewing and updating existing roles to reflect current responsibilities and expectations. Create new job descriptions as needed for newly established positions.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Human Resources team to ensure that all faculty and staff hires follow established onboarding protocols and policies.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Business Office to review and approve employee timesheets in accordance with payroll deadlines and procedures.
  • Forecast enrollment trends and related income projections to guide program planning and staffing decisions.
  • Organize and deliver orientation/training of faculty and staff of GlobalX programs.

Leadership

  • Work with the GlobalX team members to support the mission and vision of the GlobalX programs.
  • Supervise and support faculty, supervisors and volunteers to ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction and program implementation. Provide ongoing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset to encourage program development and inspire others to do the same.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven program coordination experience with strong skills in organization, planning, and execution, ideally within a preschool to 12th-grade (PS–12) educational environment.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in database management systems, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.), and various communication platforms (written, oral, and digital).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly share information with diverse audiences.
  • Knowledgeable about current trends in Education, Arts, and Technology, auxiliary programming, and the Hawaii preschool to 12th-grade school landscape.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting and engaging with students and adults.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with departments, including academic offices, Business Office, Human Resources, and Communications departments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years of related work experience in an education setting, Summer Programs/Camp management, or managing complex programs.
  • Proven experience supervising and providing guidance to both student and adult populations in a professional, academic, or programmatic environment.
  • Experience working with students.
  • Experience managing programs in both in-person and virtual setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing curricula designed to support educational programs.
