Overview

Carlson Design Group is seeking a creative and talented New Business Development (NBD) Associate to join our expanding design team. We view the design process as a collaboration among architects, engineers, client stakeholders, and project teams.

Location

Based in Detroit, MI, Atlanta, GA, Northern Virginia, or Charlotte, NC. Some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Research & Screening: Identify new leads, analyze market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials.
• Client Relations: Contact potential clients via email, social media, or phone; maintain relationships and inform them of new developments.
• Company Liaison: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging; host and coordinate social events with clients.

Qualifications

Must have:

• BS/BA in business administration, sales, or relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in architecture or engineering firms.
• Experience selling to mission-critical clients such as data centers or telecommunication centers is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).

Preferred:

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Results-driven leadership qualities.
• Flexibility and good time management skills.
