Position: Full-time, HR Specialist
Location: Honolulu
Industry: Human Resources
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour (depends on experience)

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented HR Specialist to support and enhance the daily functions of the Human Resources department. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional with a strong background in benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee relations. The HR Specialist will play a key role in maintaining accurate employee records, managing onboarding and offboarding, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Job Duties:
  • Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
  • Process and audit payroll in collaboration with payroll providers, ensuring timely and accurate payment and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain and update HRIS with employee data, personnel changes, and documentation.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process, including background checks, orientation, and exit interviews.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and HR processes with professionalism and discretion.
  • Generate reports and support HR audits and internal reviews as needed.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, with specific experience in employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment and onboarding, and HR compliance and policy interpretation
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personnel information with discretion
  • Reliable and able to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
