Description:

Description

Schnabel is looking for a full-time Senior Project Manager to join our team in Hawaii. As a senior leader you will be responsible for developing and managing our project teams, procuring work, and making sure our customers are happy. Much of our work is design-build, so being able to assist with geotechnical and structural design elements will be key to your success.

Schnabel was founded in 1959 in Washington DC and has grown to become one of the nation's top geostructural contractors. Family owned and operated; we are looking to add this person as an addition to the team, not a backfill.

Our typical projects focus on temporary and permanent support of excavation systems, specialty foundations, and ground improvement work. These scopes include landslide stabilization, permanent and temporary tied back and braced excavation shoring, jet grouting, cement deep soil mixing, soil nailing, micropiles, and underpinning. Candidates who have direct construction experience and familiarity with our company's traditional scope of work are preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all assigned projects and ensure profitability through safe and efficient project management best practices
  • Design, plan, organize and coordinate construction with Schnabel's field supervisors
  • Prepare project budget and schedule
  • Monitor project costs, and monthly revenue and profit estimates
  • Promote and maintain a great company culture based on teamwork, honesty, and a passion for the projects we build
  • Find, create, and keep customers in Hawaii and other parts of the region
  • Contribute experience with deep foundation, ground improvement, and grouting products
  • Develop strategy to grow Schnabel's market share in the above product lines
  • Identify resource needs such as personnel and equipment
  • Contribute to the sales effort as needed to achieve sales and revenue goals
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts in close collaboration with Operations Manager and Vice President
  • Leverage experience by assisting with the development of designs and drawings
  • Partner with Corporate Business Development resources to gain share in existing markets and develop strategy to penetrate new markets
  • Collaborate with Schnabel's R&D team to develop and implement innovations
  • Contribute to annual equipment fleet planning efforts
  • Coordinate with Vice President and Operations Manager to share resources as needed to benefit group and company
  • Support the company's safety and risk management objectives by adhering to established procedures, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks, and contributing to the achievement of safety goals through the use of metrics and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
  • Bachelors in civil engineering, construction engineering, or construction management preferred
  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction or geotechnical estimating and/or project management experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform critical thinking and creative problem solving
Salary and Overall Compensation
  • $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD
  • Company Bonus Plan
Benefits
  • Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k) with company match (5%)
  • Generous PTO plan and paid Holidays
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
