Temporarily, Part-Time (75% FTE) position with the University of Hawai'i (UH) at Manoa,
College of Engineering, working on multiple projects, including 1)Toward Vision Zero:
Sensing, Predicting, and Preventing Intersection Collisions, 2) Polit Connected
Automated Vehicle System Investigations for Enhanced Safety and Mobility of Seniors
and Individuals with Disabilities in Hawaii, and 3) the other cybersecurity-transportation
projects. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs,
satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable
Federal/State laws.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts research focusing on AI data analytics, cybersecurity literature synthesis which includes: Analyzing traffic data, preparing training datasets for AI-based traffic sensing model development, reviewing cybersecurity-transportation related literature, synthesizing the latest cybersecurity research development, preparing for technical reports and journal/conference publications. Assists with research grant applications. Works with graduate students on relevant research projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics or related field.
- 1-2 years experience in research in an academic setting.
- Knowledge of data science and data analytics
Desirable Qualifications
- Ability to develop, design, and conduct AI training dataset development;
comprehensively synthesize existing literature, analyze experimental data, and
work collaboratively to draft technical reports and scientific papers for
professional conferences and journal publications
