Join the Honolulu Board of Water Supply as a Chemist I! The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), Water Quality Division, is looking to hire two (2) Chemists for their Chemical Laboratory located in Honolulu. As a Chemist I, youll help ensure water safety by testing natural and treated water for chemicals like pesticides, metals, and minerals. Youll follow strict lab procedures and work with potentially hazardous substances, so attention to detail and safety is key. Key Responsibilities:Test water samples for chemicals and minerals to ensure water quality and safety. Use a variety of lab techniques and instruments (e.g., color tests, titrations, and wet chemical methods). Collect water samples from different field locations, including hard-to-reach areas with uneven terrain. Investigate water quality complaints by talking with customers, testing samples, and writing reports. Document and report lab findings clearly, both in writing and verbally.
