Assists three acquisitions editors with projects at different stages in the publishing process: tasks include, e.g., updating manuscript specifications in press database; organizing manuscripts, images, and accompanying materials for copyediting and design; proofreading various materials to ensure text follows press style and recent Chicago Manual of Style guidelines. Uses title management systems and databases to track projects, creating and maintaining accurate records and files for multiple projects simultaneously. Provides authors with accurate and timely updates and information. Performs general administrative and office duties such as organizing and updating digital information and files. Assists with maintaining the acquisitions department's databases and spreadsheets, and collaborates with colleagues in other departments (editorial/production/design, marketing, etc.) as needed to support the publishing process.
