About the Job:
The position of Dispatcher II will have primary responsibility to dispatch shipments on the island of Oahu and coordinate interisland shipments to and from Oahu. To communicate to the drivers a positive, safe and professional attitude to accomplish deliveries in a timely proficient profitable manner.
In This Role, You Will:
- Dispatch and check in drivers daily
- Take pickup requests and manage the freight pickup process
- Schedule and confirm freight delivery appointments as needed
- Manifest drivers' route sequences
- Collaborate with drivers to resolve any in-route or delivery issues
- Coordinate with peers to manage and optimize load movements
- Ensure timely and accurate handling of all documentation and paperwork
- Assign and route drivers, trailers, and tractors
- Troubleshoot OS&D (Over, Short & Damaged) issues and follow return product procedures
- Perform essential administrative tasks to support daily operations
- Collect checks for COD (Cash on Delivery) customers
- Maintain organized work processes and effectively manage time to meet deadlines
- Update and maintain driver logs, DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports), fuel records, mileage logs, and hours of service
- Input and update customer movement data in TruckMate
- Support other duties and projects as assigned

- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of container dispatch experience preferred
- Experience with local island logistics and DOT regulations for drivers is required
- Familiarity with harbor operations, port procedures, and logistics strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card (non-CDL)
- Proven ability to coordinate effectively with drivers to ensure timely deliveries
- Strong reading and comprehension skills for interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
- Basic math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and whole numbers
- Hazardous Materials Certification is a plus
- Must have a strong attendance record and flexibility to work overtime as needed

Pearl City, HI. Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 2:00 pm
As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Odyssey provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.
The base pay range for this position is: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour (DOE)
