About the job Kitchen Staff(Line Cook)
Summary:
Out client is a dynamic hospitality company operating multiple locations in Honolulu. They are seeking some Kitchen Staff(Line Cook or Prep Cook) positions for their restaurants and cafe for smooth operations and delivering high-quality culinary and guest experiences.
This role will be responsible for kitchen work, assisting chefs with food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization. You will be required to report to the Kitchen Manager and General Manager.Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, cut/chopping, portioning, cooking, plating)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including dishwashing and sanitizing
- Ensure proper food storage according to safety guidelines
- Manage kitchen waste and recycling responsibly
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
- Help receive and organize deliveries of food and supplies
- Occasionally assist with food service during peak hours
Must Requirements:
- Educational requirement :Graduated at least high school.
- Years of Experience :Not required (except one of our fancy dining position)
- Language : Communication level of English(Interview will be conducted in English) Reading and basic conversational. As long as you can understand directions given by management, and can read tickets, recipes, rules, etc.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs
- You will most likely need to be standing for most of their shift, so stand for long periods.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays *The scheduling is different per restaurant, but generally, no one has a set schedule. We are generally open on all weekends and holidays.
- Open-minded, positive people, who can work in a team environment and are willing to learn and grow. The kitchen teams are small and the ability to get a long and communicate with each other is very important.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices will be a plus, but not a mandatory condition.
Work Conditions:
- Position: Kitchen Staff
- Employment Type: Full-time (W-2) /Part-time/ Contract
- Working Hours: 8 hours per day, 40-50 per week. *This would vary between restaurants. If you will be assigned to the restaurant which has lunch-operation, you would start as early as 9am. The later shifts may start between 2pm and 4pm and will be clocked out between 11pm and 1230am.
- Work Days: Generally 5 days a week (2 days off), shift- basis. *Except one restaurant, our restaurants are open 7 days a week, including holidays. Shifts are determined by the scheduler of the restaurant.

- Increment / bonus / tip scheme : It is different based on locations. Raises are given based on performance and ability to learn stations. We currently do not have bonuses for hourly employees.

- Details of Overtime Allowance: Anything over 40 hours in a work week is considered overtime, at which time their wage would be 1.5x their normal hourly rate.
- The compensation for working on a non shift date would be their hourly wage.
