RT IRD Food & Beverage Service Agent

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the daily functions of the Room Service Department. Take food and beverage orders over the phone and process the orders through the hotel's POS system. Close checks and complete reports as required. Accept cash payment for Room Service. Assign and oversee Room Service, amenity deliveries and other tasks directed to waithelp. Insure prompt service according to hotel standards. Check food and beverage orders being delivered. Proficient in the use of a computer for reports and dining reservations. Take dining reservations for restaurant and is knowledgeable in the menus, events and hours of operation. Make suggestion to increase hotel sales and upsell products. Notify supervisor/manager of any concerns during the shift.

Essential Duties:

  • Answer phone, greeting the guest in a warm and friendly manner, personalizing the service.
  • Take food and beverage orders according to hotel standards; upsell or do suggestive selling.
  • Process orders using the hotel's POS system, close checks and complete reports as required.
  • Responsible for a bank, accept cash, room charge and credit card payment for room service.
  • Taking dining reservations for resort restaurant; familiar with restaurant hours, menu and entertainment.
  • Review Daily Buzz report, event orders and reservations line noting VIP's, special requests or occasions.
  • Knowledgeable of the room service menu, restaurant menu and hotel fact sheet.
  • Assign and oversee room service amenity deliveries and other tasks directed to waithelp.
  • Check food and beverage orders being delivered; insure delivery is timely.
  • Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOP's.
  • Notify manager of any problems.
  • Oversee room service operation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required by the manager.


Other Duties:
  1. Knowledge of the Prince Waikiki branding, history and geography.
  2. Pick-up and stock linen and other supplies.
  3. Assist waithelp in expediting service to guest or resetting table carts.
  4. Keep Room Service and surrounding area clean and orderly.
  5. Recommend the resort's restaurants and facilities to guests.
Working Conditions:
  1. Room Service work station in the kitchen.
  2. Kitchen noise.
Work Hours:
  1. Able to work hours shift and days determined by manager.
  2. Able to work more than 40 hours a week when needed.
Equipment Use:
  1. Proficient in the use of a computer for reports and dining reservations.
  2. Proficient in the use of the resort's POS system.
  3. Telephone
  4. Carts
  5. Coffee machine, toaster
Mental and Physical Demands:
  1. Able to prioritize and organize workload.
  2. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
  3. Able to sit at a desk, answering the telephone and processing orders during your work shift.
  4. Stand, walk, bend and reach to set up carts or assist waithelp.
  5. Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Communication Demands:
  1. Able to communicate effectively in English to employees, managers and guests.
  2. Able to effectively communicate over the phone in a warm and friendly manner.
  3. Able to handle disgruntled guest in a positive manner.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  1. Department of Health TB clearance.
  2. I-9 requirement.
  3. Must be able to read and write in English to perform job duties.
  4. Must be pleasant, friendly and smiling.
  5. Ability to multi-task.
