Description:

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

  • You will perform mechanical engineering functions, especially in such areas as machinery. pumping, piping. plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • You will perform advisory, consulting and review duties, including those involving difficult and complex mechanical design problems.
  • You will be responsible for designing or reviewing designs of mechanical systems or features of projects. including drawings. design analysis. outline specifications, technical provisions of specifications and cost estimates.
  • You will review designs and plans not only for quality. costs. and conformance to requirements. but also, for all technical aspects.
  • You will coordinate the design by engineers in other specialties to ensure the equipment conforms with intended design plans.
  • You will attend various meetings and prepare reports and technical correspondence.

Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional physical activity required including walking, bending. stooping and climbing during field surveys or inspection of equipment and facilities.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing. reviewing and coordinating design specifications, cost estimates, consulting services, studies and reports for mechanical engineering work.
