We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Senior Mechanical Operations Manager to lead and oversee all facets of mechanical field operations based in Honolulu, HI. This executive-level role is responsible for driving the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems projects—including HVAC, piping, and sheet metal installations—across complex commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate brings extensive operational and field expertise, sharp business judgment, and a hands-on leadership approach that prioritizes team performance, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, regulatory codes, SMACNA standards, and company operating procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, estimators, engineering, and procurement to ensure operational alignment and project success.
  • Manage labor resources, equipment deployment, subcontractors, and material logistics across multiple projects.
  • Drive operational process improvements to increase field productivity, reduce waste, and support cost-effective delivery.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders on all field-related performance, quality, and operational matters.
  • Provide leadership in workforce development, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Develop and track operational metrics and reporting systems to monitor project health, labor efficiency, and overall team performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in mechanical construction or operations, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, plumbing, and ductwork installation, including large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
  • Proven ability to lead field teams, manage project operations, and ensure performance in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and labor management practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, submittals, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred; additional safety or project management certifications a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with union labor and managing union subcontractors (if applicable).
  • Proficiency in project and operations software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process standardization and operational efficiency initiatives.
