This position will have an estimated duration of 24-36 months.
Position Summary
The Technical Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the planning, purchasing, management, and delivery of aircraft parts and tooling requirements in support of the Global Technical Operations organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate material support for engineering modifications (EOs), service bulletins (SBs) and airworthiness directives (ADs)
- Collaborate with maintenance planning and other departments to ensure material flow meets planned maintenance requirements and changes during maintenance execution
- Pre-plan material requirements for maintenance events and ensures stock is on hand to meet scheduled events
- Create, process and manage purchase orders for Aircraft and Engine parts in support of Scheduled Maintenance Events, Engineering Orders, AOG(s), etc.
- Monitor aircraft part usage patterns and adjust Trax reorder points to ensure risk of stockouts or excess inventory is minimized
- Review expendable and rotable requisitions to ensure good business decisions are being made with each purchase
- Produce reports and review invoices for accuracy to correct discrepancies and ensure payment terms are met
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Negotiate cost reductions based on quote analysis and benchmarking in accordance with company compliance policies and procedures
- Utilize Trax and various industry and supplier systems to manage order processing, inventory planning, and data analysis
- Accountable to manage inventory levels by analyzing consumption patterns, adjusting allocations, and purchasing appropriate quantities. Adhere to departmental business rules in establishing Trax reorder points and other system settings
- Approve new parts to be set up in active inventory, recommends inventory status be activated or inactivated as needed
- Identify and investigate vendor issues, negotiate resolutions and recommend alternatives that act in the best interest of the Company
- Work across the Hawaiian Airlines Technical Operations Department, to ensure that supplier partnerships are effectively integrated and are meeting performance expectations
- Other duties or projects as required
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field with 3-5 years technical purchasing and planning experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong process analysis and continuous improvement skills
- Self-directing and able to meet deadlines in dynamic environment
- Strong sense of financial responsibility and knowledgeable of inventory accounting principles
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle multiple time sensitive tasks or projects at the same time in an operational environment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including but not limited to after hours, weekend and/or holidays
- Capability to understand technical documents, work with cross-functional teams and make recommendations based on data and analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency using statistical analysis tools
- Computer literate with the ability to define systems requirements with information systems personnel
- Strong capabilities to work with database, spreadsheet and word processing software
- Must be able to work with people from other departments in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Previous experience in materials management planning and procurement in an airline, transportation or service industry
- Knowledge of accounting, finance and AP/AR functions
- Knowledge of Supply Chain processes
- Green Belt – Lean or Six Sigma Certified
- Proven change agent to work in highly complex and stressful environments.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of airline procurement of goods and services and working with suppliers/vendors
- Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $65,600 - $86,100.
