Job Description

Under the direction of the Legal & Custody Manager, this position is responsible for assisting customers and persons serving legal papers on the Bank, processing claims, settling the closure of deceased customer accounts, and responding to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Research and process legal orders such as Tax Levies, Garnishments, Child Support Levies, Distraint Warrants, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Communicate with personal representatives, attorneys, customers, and employees regarding the disposition of funds and court orders.
• Handle questions from internal and external customers via phone or in person, and accept legal documents served on the bank.
• Follow up on old garnishments to settle them when judgments expire.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Associate degree with two years of experience, or equivalent work experience.
• 0-1 years of banking, legal, probate, or estate settlement experience.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office; knowledge of bank software systems.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities, work flexible hours, and lift up to 35 lbs.
