This job level is considered a skilled position. An individual is expected to be familiar with all standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the Pipefitting field.
Ability to read basic blueprints, sketches, and symbols. Knowledge of gas freeing and ventilation procedures. Ability to complete tests for flush and hydro systems. Good math skills required.
High School Diploma or GED required, with two years of technical training in Pipefitting Technology or related area, or three years of continuous work experience in a related field.

Employees must regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle objects, and operate hand and power tools; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Work involves exposure to high & low-pressure piping systems, fumes, airborne particles, and varying conditions such as cold, wet, hot, and humid environments. Noise levels are moderate to occasionally loud.
Strong mathematical skills. Ability to cut, weld, and braze. Capable of measuring with metric or English systems, fabricating simple jigs and fixtures.
Ability to build-up and repair valves, weld dissimilar metals, perform brazing and arc welding, fabricate piping systems, operate surface machines, and handle materials. Good productivity and safety awareness are essential.
