Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga'a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga'a MOSTT's services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support.

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Instructor/Operator Support Services (I/OS) to join the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) Instructor Operator Support Services (MIOSS) team. The I/OS role provides training support services for the MSTC, which conducts medical instruction and skill validation for the 68W Combat Medic in accordance with standards established by the US Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) and the Directorate of Simulation (DOS) under the Combat Medic Sustainment Division (CMSD).

The I/OS will instruct a mixed population of inexperienced and seasoned soldiers across all MOSs in classroom, simulation lab, and field settings.

Normal working hours are Monday through Sunday, 0800 - 1700, excluding Federal Holidays, with an expectation of no more than 40 hours per week and a one-hour unpaid lunch daily.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Conduct training using approved and standardized programs of instruction (POI) and simulation scenarios.
  2. Ensure all POIs meet the standards set by the credentialing authority.
  3. Provide podium instruction without the use of Borrowed Military Manpower (BMM).
  4. Provide all Table VIII Skill Validation without BMM.
  5. Complete administrative duties for MTN courses (BLS, ALS, PALS), including student rosters, course critiques, data entry, certification issuance, and prompt certification.
  6. Maintain ARC course records as per policies and procedures.
  7. Serve as BLS, ALS, and PALS Program Director and Administrator for MTN courses as assigned.
  8. Act as Instructor Trainer for BLS, ALS, and PALS per the MTN handbook.
  9. Compile and deliver semi-annual and annual MTN reports.
  10. Assist with or complete administrative duties for all POIs as instructed.
  11. Perform basic preventative maintenance on medical training manikins and equipment.
  12. Conduct PMCS on all equipment and document it.
  13. Report inoperable equipment to the TOR.
  14. Troubleshoot high-fidelity training manikins with vendors and coordinate repairs.
  15. Coordinate maintenance on out-of-warranty manikins and trainers.
  16. Conduct weekly inventories and report statuses.
  17. Assist training units with equipment use, preparation, and cleanup.
  18. Set up and breakdown training equipment for each POI.
  19. Provide course rosters, sign-in sheets, and student handouts.
  20. Deliver After Action Reviews for students.
  21. Possess presentation skills for technical training.
  22. Support exercise planning, management, and operator support.
  23. Instruct medical tasks as they pertain to operational forces.
  24. Conduct Train the Trainer courses for medical readiness tasks.
  25. The POIs include courses such as MEDIC, BLS, ALS, PALS, EMT Refresher, NRP Refresher, Combat Life Saver, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and others approved by PEO STRI and DOS.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong comprehension and application skills for course material.
  • Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of staff roles for establishing and operating program sites.
  • Experience working with senior military officers and managing complex programs.
  • Knowledge of standard practices within the field.
  • Ability to plan and execute goals with creativity and judgment.
  • Customer service skills and routine office equipment proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web applications.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties requiring standing, sitting, walking, bending, and visual acuity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience.
  • Current NREMT certification at EMT level or higher.
  • Basic Life Support certification from ARC.
  • ARC BLS Instructor (Instructor Trainer preferred).
  • Annual completion of MEDIC Tables I-VII and Table VIII validation.
  • Additional instructor certifications as required.
  • Ability to affiliate with Nisga'a MOSTT site codes and complete recertification training.
  • Experience as a former 68W, Navy NEC 8404, Air Force 4NOX1, or licensed healthcare professional.
