Position Information

An Architect V performs difficult and complex professional architectural work in preparing and/or supervising the preparation of architectural and engineering designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other related duties as required.

Current Vacancy Information

There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Design and Construction, Facilities Division, located in Honolulu. The position is responsible for doing complex architectural planning, design, and support during construction work throughout the entire duration of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) or Operating Budget projects involved with the planning and design of public structures and buildings park and recreational facilities, the renovation, restoration, and redesign of all City-related grounds, and space management planning of City-related facilities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

Education Requirement

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Verification Requirement : You must submit evidence of your Bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering in order to be given credit. Please attach an electronic copy of your diploma and/or official transcript which shows the embossed seal or applicable FCE to your application. Or mail a photocopy of your documents to the following address: Department of Human Resources, 650 South King Street, 10th Floor, Honolulu, HI 96813. Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted. Copies will not be returned. All information on your documentation must be legible and complete in order to be given credit.

Experience Requirement

One (1) year of registered professional architectural work experience.

License Requirement

• Current State of Hawaii registration as a Professional Architect.
  
  

Note: Applicants with a current out-of-state Professional Architect license must obtain the Hawaii license, prior to appointment.

• Valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile), as required. The current vacancy does not require a driver's license.
