Job Overview

This position provides administrative support to unit staff, including travel arrangements, payroll, personnel actions, and oversight of business processes such as financial, procurement, property, and personnel management. The role ensures compliance with laws and regulations, prepares correspondence, reports, and meeting materials, and may involve attending meetings with leadership to provide guidance on specialized programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative tasks like travel, payroll, and personnel actions.
  • Oversee business processes including financial and procurement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Draft and review correspondence, reports, and SOPs.
  • Prepare meeting materials and briefings; attend meetings with leadership as needed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Work involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, and lifting, primarily in an office setting, with potential fieldwork.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Background investigation clearance
  • Selective Service registration (for males)
  • Participation in direct deposit
  • Possession of a valid State driver's license and submission of driving records if required
  • Age requirements: at least 18, or 16 with specific educational or employment status

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications by 06/27/2025, including relevant experience or education. A typing speed of at least 40 words per minute is required, with supporting documentation submitted within the past 3 years.

Experience and Education

At least one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 in federal service is required. Volunteer experience and CTAP/ICTAP eligibility are also considered.

Additional Information

Travel and relocation expenses are not paid. This position may be filled by multiple candidates within 90 days of certification. Employment is contingent on meeting all requirements and passing background checks.

Evaluation and Ranking

Applicants will be assessed based on their qualifications, experience, and responses to the application questionnaire, with candidates rated as 'Well Qualified' or 'Qualified'. Competencies include administration, financial management, communication, technology, and writing skills.
