The Senior Accountant is part of the Automotive Accounting team and will be responsible for recording financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, performing period closing functions in Oracle, preparing reports and supporting schedules, and assisting with audits for automotive-related transactions. This person will work with the Accounting Manager to supervise, train, and develop staff and maintain proper documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for proper accounting of automotive transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for Servco Hawaii operations.
  • Oversee automotive accounting functions and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Ensure proper reserves.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute inventory counts with Auto Retail and Auto Distribution locations. Analyze resulting adjustments and determine further actions needed.
  • Perform financial review and variance analysis as assigned.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to manage workflow processes for accurate and timely transaction recording.
  • Supervise, review work, train, and develop assigned staff.
  • Complete account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and outstanding items promptly.
  • Create and update process documentation.
  • Assist in external and internal audits and special project reviews.
  • Support stakeholders as required.
  • Research errors and irregularities in the accounting process, understand causes, and recommend solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of senior accountant experience with general ledger accounting, period closing, estimates and reserves calculation, account reconciliation, analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Diversified industry experience in retail, manufacturing, automotive, or work experience with a Big-4 CPA firm is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Oracle Financial Cloud and Dealer Track knowledge are preferred.
  • MBA is preferred.
