Summary
The Director Business Development is responsible for leading the pursuit of new business and expansion/renewal business. A successful candidate will coordinate the complete sales cycle, including lead generation, prospect qualification, and leading cross-functional pursuit teams by providing clear deal strategy, pricing, service, value proposition, and presentation messaging. The focus is on new sales contracts, team selling, and solution selling. The individual will be assigned a sales quota and held accountable for it.
Essential Functions
- Lead deal pursuit, create deal and pricing strategies, develop proposal plans, prospect new brands, explore cross-sell opportunities, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
- Provide continued commercial support on closed accounts, explore cross-selling opportunities for existing clients.
- Further education on verticals for consultative selling.
Additional Responsibilities
- Focus on one vertical/business unit; may work on other deals at sales leader's discretion. Understand how Ryder's solutions can be customized to meet customer needs. Transition new accounts to the appropriate teams after 24 months unless otherwise decided. Propose $120 million over 5 years. Sign at least one cross-sell opportunity (SCS/DTS). Adhere to Ryder policies, including travel and expense policies. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field required.
- Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
- Minimum five years of sales experience, with at least three years at quota and two years at 75% of quota.
- Experience selling supply chain solutions and achieving quota attainment multiple times within 60 months.
- Valid Driver's License (Class E).

Compensation
Base salary range: $125,000 - $165,000, plus potential bonuses and incentives.
