Responsibilities
- Supports Portfolio Managers in their daily portfolio management duties. This includes: Maintaining and generating reports from the portfolio management and related systems to facilitate the investment process, improve efficiency, and mitigate risks. Executing accurate rebalances of client accounts on an ad hoc or large scale basis. Maintaining investment portfolio composites, which are target portfolios for client accounts, to ensure accuracy and to implement any changes to asset allocation or manager selection. Providing ongoing review of client accounts for policy exceptions and compliance and coordinates actions required to resolve issues that arise, including maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Keeps abreast of major developments in the capital markets. Materially participates in the analysis of capital markets and/or investment managers to support the Bank's investment process. Uses knowledge of markets, asset allocation views and investment strategies to advise Portfolio Managers of potential impact on client portfolios and make recommendations as appropriate. Supports communication of investment results, market conditions, and the firm's investment process to internal and external clients, including but not limited to help produce collateral materials and analysis of clients' specific investment situations.
- Actively pursues continuing professional development through leadership and development training available internally as well as through training sponsored by investment industry associations. Pursues attainment of relevant professional designations. Contribute to the team's overall development by sharing information and ideas that may enhance the team's effectiveness.
- Follows general corporate policies and pursues actions that contribute to the Trust Services Group's overall level of profitability and performance. Assumes new client relationships, assists other team members with special projects, maintains effective communication with other support groups within the Investment Services Group and keeps business errors and mistakes to a minimum.
- Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, finance or related major preferred, or equivalent work experience. Financial and trend analysis knowledge preferred.
- Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in the securities industry or comparable experience in another field of banking/financial services industry or equivalent work experience. Requires basic knowledge of how economic and business conditions affect investment returns and knowledge of security types and financial markets.
- Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or similar software.
- Strong communications skills, including verbal, written, inter-personal and presentation. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Must be able to provide own transportation and ability to commute as required. Travels by air as required. Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
