Under the direction of the Manager, responsible for preparing comprehensive financial and estate planning solutions. This position works closely with manager to identify and propose changes to help drive department, division and overall company efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers comprehensive financial plans by carefully analyzing client information and client specific goals. Prepares illustrations or presentation of planning materials to assist relationship managers in offering clients holistic wealth management solutions. Assists in the preparation of new materials and/or updates existing seminar materials as requested by teams, branches, management and marketing. Participates and supports sales efforts of wealth management relationship managers and officers. Follows risk management guidelines and procedures.
  • Provides technical assistance to relationship managers and officers in identifying and evaluating complex planning techniques and situations. Answers questions and conducts research to answer technical inquiries from business partners. Assists in providing technical support to writers for articles, client communications, web site, and marketing materials.
  • Maintains a positive business relationship with business units and partners. Proactively communicates project status and schedules. Assists on special projects and with other duties as necessary. Works with peers and manager to development of a cohesive and mutually supportive working relationship, understand partner needs, address concerns and resolve issues.
  • Provides systems and/or process analysis and design to meet functional and organizational requirements. Studies methods of improving work measurements or performance standards. Incorporates Bank of Hawaii information security policies and procedures into all system designs. Participates in the evaluation and implementation of new technology.
  • Maintains knowledge of wealth products, activities and policies. Maintains knowledge of income, estate and gift tax laws, estate planning techniques, and all aspects of financial planning, including but not limited to: banking, investment, education and retirement planning, and trusts. Participates in internal and external development opportunities.
    Vendor Management.
  • Assists in managing vendor to deliver agreed-upon service levels and delivery commitments related to systems performance. Assists in addressing issues with vendor performance on production and project delivery; escalates where necessary. Identifies opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and improved functionality and efficiencies with provided solutions. Works with vendor on any system updates and/or improvements.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major in accounting, finance or related area or equivalent work experience. Willingness to obtain CFP.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of related work experience. Banking, financial industry or related field preferred. Financial planning and/or estate planning knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems. Experience with MoneyGuidePro or other financial planning software a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including interpersonal skills. Must be analytical, organized with excellent problem solving skills. Must have a collaborative work style with the ability to work in a team environment. Should be an independent worker who drives assigned tasks through to completion. Must be detail oriented with the ability to meet competing deadlines. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
