The Scheduling Coordinator works collaboratively with the Admissions Coordinator, Dental Care Manager, Dentists and Patient Guardians to ensure that infant, toddler, preschool, school age, young adult (up to age 21) patients are screened and meet the requirements of the hospital prior to receiving surgical or dental services. Obtains necessary medical information at time of admission in order to enhance strategic placement on the surgical schedule and ensures patients are appropriately scheduled for dental preadmission testing (PAT) and outpatient surgery (OPS) visits. Communicates and coordinates with departments, primary care physicians and outside sources to obtain necessary surgical resources and prepare patients for their appointments. Provides education regarding dental process. Coordinates related services preoperatively to ensure a smooth perioperative transition for pediatric patients.
