Supplemental Programs Assistant

Description:

To assist the Supplemental Programs ASEP Coordinator and Department with providing a safe and well-supervised environment for Supplemental Programs that enhance the learning experiences of students in grades K-12. Supplemental Programs include: After School Enrichment Program (ASEP), Fall/Spring Intersession, Summer School, and Holiday/Summer enrichment programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Handles registration processing for Intersessions, Summer school, Summer/Holiday Programs.
  • Assist with the formatting and design of Intersession and Summer Program brochures.
  • Assumes the coordinator's ASEP supervisory responsibilities in his/her absence.
  • Assist the coordinator in developing After School Enrichment Program (ASEP), summer, and holiday program goals and objectives.
  • Assist the coordinator with the program, schedule, and curriculum for the ASEP, Summer, and Holiday Programs.
  • Assist the coordinator in preparing for the ASEP staff meeting.
  • Assist the coordinator to direct, observe, and evaluate ASEP leaders in carrying out their respective duties.
  • Prepare and maintain the ASEP student pick-up table information and supplies.
  • Assist ASEP student pick-up, including following proper pick-up protocols and ensuring student safety.
  • Maintain an inventory of office and ASEP/summer/holiday program supplies and equipment.
  • Assist the coordinator with off-campus Holiday Program and ASEP activities/field trips as necessary.
  • Assist the coordinator with accurately documenting funds (i.e. drop-in and late fees).
  • Communicate and send information to parents in person, online, mail, or via phone.
  • Answer phone calls and emails by addressing questions and concerns.
  • Assist in the coordination and supervision of after-school programs conducted by independent contractors/vendors
  • Maintain a good supervisory working relationship with all staff. This includes encouraging open dialogue about individual concerns, difficulties and new ideas.
  • Ensure positive reinforcement, and write behavior and accident reports.
  • Serve as liaison between the school and home to establish a positive working relationship; interact directly with parents, in person, online, orvia phone.
  • Keep in communication with the Supplemental Programs ASEP Coordinator and team.

OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Spiritual : Must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and; demonstrate living relationship with Jesus Christ as described in “The Baptist Faith and Message”, the tenets of the Southern Baptist denomination.
  • Skills/Knowledge : Good verbal and written communication skills. Enjoys working with children. CPR and first aid certified.
  • Education/Training : High School Graduate. 2 years of College preferred (60 College credits)
  • Experience : At least one year prior experience working with children.
