Job Description

As the leader of our business in Hawaii, this role will direct the team throughout the region and be responsible for day-to-day operational decisions including selling SOCOTEC services within the local market, developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients, including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and overseeing client presentations. This position will report directly to the Division Principal.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and mentorship to the regional team by setting goals, prioritizing objectives, managing project list and ensuring alignment with overall business targets.
  • Collaborate with divisional leadership to develop innovative initiatives to drive growth, enhance service delivery, and improve operational performance.
  • Be accountable for departmental P&L performance, including budget oversight and financial results.
  • Ensure objectives and key results are clearly defined, communicated, and monitored for Project Managers and Jr. Level staff.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with defined utilization and billable hour targets.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Support Team with contract tracking, budget monitoring, and collection efforts.
  • Liaise with internal divisions to streamline processes and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Integrate services across platform to strengthen “one stop” offerings for services.
    • Includes Geotechnical
    • Owner Project Management/Construction Management
  • Training, adherence and local controls to align with Sooctec's standards for operational effectiveness relating to policies and procedures

Client Relationship and Proposal Management

  • Work collaboratively and seek decision alignment with Divisional leadership.
  • Establish and nurture ongoing client relationships to anticipate and proactively resolve potential issues.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and relationships are maintained.
  • Participate, or facilitate Project Manager Development for,in client meetings and provide clear communication on expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in new construction and existing building services.
  • Collaborate with marketing team in supporting outbound strategies to market.
  • Assist in preparing standard proposals and pricing estimates, and support the development of ‘Out of Scope' documentation.
  • Communicate proposal outcomes internally to align expectations and responsibilities. Utilize existing tools to track and document client relations and proposal follow ups.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree a plus. (Construction Management disciplines - Architectural, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, Business Management) preferred - OR - 10+ Years of progressive experience in the construction/building services space
  • Strong knowledge of operations and protocols of operations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of stakeholders at multiple levels, internal and external
  • Possess strong supervisory and technical skills, effective time-management skills, strong computer skills, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills, and ability to develop, design, and implement long range plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Skills in multi-tasking with complex schedules and competing interests for time allocation a must.
  • Ability to adjust and have a flexible “workday” schedule to collaborate with colleagues across US timezones from Eastern time to Hawaii time and in between.
  • Professional License (PE) or (RA), preferred.
  • Ability to manage personal workload and office management demands with a target of 65 % billable time of your own.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
