Job Description

The General Construction Laborer performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to foundation repair projects, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning work sites, assisting skilled workers, setting up and dismantling scaffolding, digging trenches, and operating basic hand tools.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
  • Demonstrate concrete demo and pick up of demo concrete.
  • Mix grout and/or concrete.
  • Assist in all aspects of construction work.
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and securing the site daily to eliminate hazards.
  • Handle and store materials properly.
  • Load and unload trucks, and haul and hoist materials.
  • Work from a swing stage on high- and low-rise buildings.
  • Prioritize safety at all times.
  • Obtain security pass for federal job sites.
  • Possess a valid drivers license.
  • One year of construction experience in masonry work or deep foundation is a plus.
  • Take ownership of work responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with crew, managers, and customers.
Supervisor Responsibilities
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions
  • Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions at construction sites.
  • Work environment can be loud and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, handle objects, reach, and occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift or move up to 20-75 pounds.
  • Require specific vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
Travel
  • Travel to and from job sites and stores; outer island travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic knowledge of construction practices.
