Job Description - NHG Manager in Training, NGIS (250001UG)
Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) Regional Vice President (RVP) and designated Training Coach, the incumbent will complete the Management in Training (MIT) curriculum and fulfill all on-the-job training requirements to develop the necessary technical and operational skills for a leadership role as an Assistant General Manager (AGM) or General Manager (GM).
Responsibilities include completing training at NHG lodging operations such as Navy Lodge, Navy Gateway Inns & Suites, Navy Inn, and Navy Inn Crew Stay, with potential training at other locations requiring travel. The role involves learning all facets of hospitality operations through shadowing and hands-on experience across departments, utilizing systems and software, and preparing progress reports.
The incumbent will develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP), serve as Manager on Duty when assigned, conduct inspections, implement policies, ensure staffing, evaluate staff performance, and assist in training and conflict resolution. They will analyze operational data, assist in budget preparation, represent NHG in meetings, liaise with vendors, monitor guest satisfaction, and ensure safety and sanitation compliance. The role may require certifications, emergency operations, and relocation upon program completion.
Qualifications include a two or four-year degree in Hospitality, Hotel/Motel Management, or Business Administration, or at least one year of supervisory or management experience in hospitality or related facilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience, including federal retail management experience, may be considered.
This position is based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, with a pay range starting at $50,000 plus COLA depending on experience.
