Description:

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Design Sales Consultant to join our TEAM!

As the Design Sales Consultant, you will provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to facilitate customer experience and influence sales/purchasing decisions. Use the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications, sales, and brand awareness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide interior design advice and product expertise, facilitate tile and stone selection, and support project development, ensuring completion of selection and sales for all customers. Utilize Auto-CAD for project management where applicable.
  2. Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed customer preferences in CMT. Communicate effectively with customers and team members to follow leads, ensure tracking, follow-up, and sales closure. Report sales closures monthly.
  3. Prospect for new business, focusing on Custom Builders and Residential Designers. Make outside sales calls as needed and follow up on leads. Log all customer interactions in CMT.
  4. Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining models and displays. Ship customer examples as needed to drive sales. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors on product offerings and showroom merchandising, including new product launches.
  5. Plan and host showroom tours and events, including industry trade shows, to drive customer sales. Attend outside trade events to develop industry relationships and build brand awareness.
  6. Must be available for evening and weekend hours.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in a related field, or four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of experience.
  • Skills in sales, customer engagement, design, sketching, reading blueprints, Auto-CAD (a plus), color coordination, interior design trends, and understanding customer buying habits.
  • Ability to approach unfamiliar situations with creative and innovative solutions, and effectively communicate and sell these to clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with customer management tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills—oral, written, listening, and interpersonal—to interact effectively with customers, team members, management, and external partners.

  • Physical requirements include standing, using hands, reaching, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, climbing, or balancing. Ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Vision abilities include close, peripheral, and focused vision.
