Qualifications:

• A doctorate degree in political science or a closely related field is required. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. ABD near completion will also be considered (must complete degree by start date). Candidates with alternative terminal degrees may be considered.
• As an educational institution affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Church), BYU–Hawaii prefers to hire qualified members of the Church in good standing, as authorized under 41 C.F.R. § 60-1.5 (a)(6). To be eligible for employment, applicants who are members of the Church must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive a clearance from the Church's Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching requirement is typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not all) of the following subject areas/courses: public policy, including an introductory course on policy analysis; introductory course in American government; among others. We are open to a range of specializations, but a geographical, or thematic focus that is of interest in Asia and the Pacific is a plus.
• Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are required.
• BYU-Hawaii's primary focus is undergraduate learning and teaching. The individual should be fully committed to the university's mission () and learning framework (

Benefits:

• Salary range: 110K to 125K depending on rank, credentials and experience.
