All employees are responsible to Ka Hana Pono: do the right thing and work in the right way.RESPONSIBILITIES Wait Help staff are responsible for reporting to store management and ensuring all guests are well taken care of. The position provides courteous and efficient guest service throughout the dining experience in the restaurant.JOB FUNCTIONS Effectively handle assigned section by greeting guests, taking orders promptly, accurately inputting orders into the POS, and processing guest checks and payments properly.Serve food to guests, refill drinks, and bus tables promptly after guests leave.Be knowledgeable about menu items, ongoing promotions, and special menu items; answer guest inquiries confidently.Maintain communication with kitchen staff and inform guests of order status.Prepare and serve beverages and desserts.Maintain a safe and sanitary work and guest area through cleaning, organizing, and replenishing necessary items.Perform other duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS Scheduling Meet assigned shift requirements.Physical Activity Regularly push, pull, and carry objects.Stand and walk for at least 6-8 hours.Reach at shoulder level and below waist constantly; reach above head occasionally.Bend downward or forward at waist or knees occasionally.Talk and listen to communicate instructions.Physical and Visual Requirements Exert up to 20 pounds of force; perform light work.Visual acuity to assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness; including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Pre-Employment Requirements Pass a tuberculosis (TB) skin test within 12 months of hire or be dated/issued at age 16 or older.Pass a drug screening test.Environmental Conditions Work in an air-conditioned environment.Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous cash handling and minimum 1-year experience as a host or server preferred.Necessary Skills and Attributes Basic math and writing skills.Ability to interact with guests and co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.Trustworthy with company property.Enjoys multitasking in a fast-paced environment.Punctuality and dependability.#J-18808-Ljbffr
