As an integral part of a team, the Housekeeping - Turndown Housekeeper is responsible for continuously seeking ways to improve each guests experience, from providing exceptional guest service to cleaning guest rooms as assigned, performing turndown services to hotel standards, and ensuring cleanliness and guest satisfaction. They also report maintenance issues and handle guest requests or complaints.

The role requires ensuring the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms and working collaboratively in teams to ensure workplace safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Greet and acknowledge all arriving/departing guests.
  2. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas at all times.
  3. Maintain complete knowledge of departmental procedures, staffing, assignments, and documentation.
  4. Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of busyness or time of day.
  5. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  6. Be familiar with all hotel services, features, and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
  7. Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
  9. Use correct cleaning chemicals according to safety regulations and hotel requirements.
  10. Clean guest rooms based on guest requests and priorities, coordinating with Housekeeping supervisors as needed.
  11. Transport supplies and linens to guest rooms, ensuring security and proper handling.
  12. Service assigned guest rooms, including turndown, ensuring security and guest privacy.
  13. Remove dirty linens and maintain cleanliness in linen areas.
  14. Ensure all amenities are replenished and rooms are inspected for cleanliness and damages.
  15. Perform detailed cleaning, including wiping surfaces, vacuuming, and bathroom sanitation.
  16. Inspect and maintain furniture and fixtures, reporting damages.
  17. Manage guest belongings and ensure proper room setup and cleanliness.
  18. Handle and deliver guest requests promptly, including shoe shines and laundry.
  19. Report maintenance issues and security concerns immediately.
  20. Ensure security of guest rooms and hotel property.
  21. Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts and storage areas.
  22. Log assignments and services rendered accurately.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

Reports To: Assistant Housekeeper, Working Supervisor

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate; experience and education that provide the necessary skills and knowledge for the role.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

None required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond promptly.
  • Familiarity with hotel services and local attractions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to exert effort to transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Good sensory perception for cleanliness and odors.
  • Work involves constant interruptions and physical movements such as bending, reaching, lifting, and climbing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor air-conditioned environment.
  • Outdoor non-air-conditioned environment with variable weather.
  • Exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals, and odors.
