Build your future here!*Applicants must currently reside in HawaiiProject/Position Overview: This project focuses on rehabilitating the electrical system within the park, including replacing power poles (upgrading wooden poles from single to three-phase), upgrading insulators and hardware, and replacing approximately 39,000 linear feet (LF) of overhead wire. Additionally, you'll oversee the replacement of 2 pad-mounted and 23 pole-mounted transformers and the strategic relocation of 20 poles along Kamehameha Street to protect cultural resources and facilitate maintenance access.Protection of native Hawaiian ecosystems, natural and cultural resources are culturally connected to the Native Hawaiian people.The long-term integrity of these biocultural resources is ensured by having effective perimeter fencing for ungulate and predator exclusion, which directly influences the experience of each visitor.This role is contingent upon award.Responsibilities and Duties: Provide technical assistance and support to CO during constructionRead, interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specificationsArrange, attend and facilitate a variety of meetings, including weekly meetings at the project siteDocument issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractorReview contractor's baseline and progress schedulesDraft project related correspondence for NPS to reviewUnderstand and document inspections during and post construction as well as mock-up inspectionsInspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes and safety standardsDeliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to COReview and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow upRequired Education, Knowledge and Skills: Education and professional qualifications related to construction, architecture, and engineeringExperience in construction projectswith similar scope, complexity, and magnitudeMinimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferredKnowledge and experience with construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulationsKnowledge of cost estimating with breakdown of labor, materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modificationsAbility to evaluate payment requestsAbility to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specificationsWritten and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsKnowledge of software including MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, ProjectTeam, Primavera, MS Project, and any other software programs typically utilizedAbility to maintain a valid driver's licenseAbility to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individualsAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to walk and climb stairs or ladders on a daily basis to observe and inspect contract performanceWhat Does PSI Offer You?
