For more information, visit www.hawaiienergy.com.The Challenge:The desirable candidate has a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals in mechanical and electrical equipment, along with excellent communication skills. They should possess a passion, curiosity, and drive to learn and provide technical assistance to optimize energy consumption for commercial customers. The candidate should also be passionate about achieving carbon neutrality and committed to empowering customers to reach Hawai‘i's 100% clean energy goal by 2045.Responsibilities:Review energy efficiency calculations and energy models for commercial projects.Perform data acquisition and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.Analyze billing and utility data using regression models.Provide energy advising customized for commercial customers.Conduct building energy audits to identify major energy consumption areas and optimize building operation.Write technical summaries and briefs for diverse audiences.Develop educational materials for building owners and the design/construction community.Develop and review measurement and verification (M&V) plans, perform M&V activities, and analyze data to determine savings and costs of energy projects.Research and develop prescriptive savings measures for emerging technologies.Develop and deliver presentations for events and meetings, and participate in stakeholder community events.Create interactive visualizations using programming languages such as R, Python, or JavaScript.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience; more years may substitute for degree.Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL.Strong technical, analytical, and report-writing skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and in teams.Physical ability to perform energy audits and field verifications.Valid driver's license.Desired Skills/Qualifications:Experience in project financing and cost analysis.Experience in energy efficiency and/or the built environment.Energy auditing (ASHRAE Level 1 & 2) and metering experience.Construction management or building maintenance experience.Strong coding skills.We value our employees and invest in their growth through career advancement, training, and certifications.
