Description:

Serves as an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the MIS Department of the Hale Koa Hotel.

2025 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) for Honolulu, HI is 8.64%.

This position will remain open until filled with a first cutoff date of 25 June 2025 for employment consideration. Additional lists will be pulled at the request of the hiring manager.

Local candidates will be reviewed first as PCS is not authorized. If it is determined that the area of consideration should be expanded, all candidates will be considered.

Duties

  • Provide technical support to customer support personnel and serve as a help desk representative.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems reported by customers.
  • Research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain customer hardware and software.
  • Provide training and instruction to enhance user performance.
  • Set system security levels based on performance and regulations.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required upon appointment.
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • A physical examination is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and various hours as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME, INCLUDING PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualifications must demonstrate experience performing duties of similar scope and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Experience, education, and/or training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skills in:

  1. Basic knowledge of data processing functions, system installation, and management principles, or a two-year degree in computer science, information science, or related field.
  2. At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting computers, systems, peripherals, networks, or providing help desk services.
  3. Strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack and OSI model.

Highly Qualifying Criteria:

  • Experience in a hospitality environment such as a hotel, cruise ship, theme park, or resort.
  • Proficiency in Windows 11, Microsoft Office suite, or Windows O365 cloud applications.
