Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented junior plumbing Estimator to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial and industrial plumbing systems. Under the mentorship of senior estimators, you will assist in preparing estimates, analyzing project documents, and supporting the pre-construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing preliminary and detailed cost estimates for plumbing systems, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Review and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, and project documents under the guidance of senior team members.
• Help perform quantity takeoffs for domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, and gas systems.
• Participate in site walks and pre-bid meetings to collect relevant project information.
• Support the development and maintenance of pricing databases and historical cost records.
• Learn to use estimating software and digital tools for takeoffs and proposal preparation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather input and verify estimate assumptions.
• Expand your understanding of plumbing systems, local codes, and best practices through ongoing training and field exposure.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent technical training or work experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in construction or mechanical systems (field experience, internships, or trade school are a plus).
• Basic understanding of plumbing systems and general construction principles.
• Strong math and analytical skills with an interest in technical problem-solving.
• Willingness to learn how to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel; exposure to estimation tools (such as FastPIPE or Bluebeam) is a plus but not required.
• Reliable, organized, and eager to grow in a team-oriented environment.
