Theater Vulnerability Analyst

Description:

DecisiveInstincts, LLC has an opportunity for a Theater Vulnerability Analyst requiring a Top Secret (SCI Eligible) clearance located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves analyzing US Government (USG) cyber security posture reports and providing expertise and guidance for fix actions to cyber units.

Note: This position requires up to 40% travel to the INDOPAC Region.

Salary: $90K-160K

Duties and Responsibilities

The analyst will analyze USG cyber security reports, interface with base cyber units, and provide USG leadership with assessments of site capabilities such as scanning (ACAS), mitigation (via MS SCCM/MECM), and maintaining host-based security products mandated by the DoD. Responsibilities include maintaining proficiency with current and future endpoint security tools, assisting with vulnerability management, creating and maintaining training documentation, and coordinating with security teams for reporting and vulnerability assessments. The role also involves maintaining command-wide SCCM & MECM health, producing status reports, analyzing network vulnerability scores, and supporting cyber operations briefs. Additional tasks include creating TASKORDs, tracking POAMs, maintaining IP space and asset lists, and managing cybersecurity accounts and contract requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI security clearance and DoD 8570.1-M certification at IAT Level 3 (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP).
  • 2-3 years of experience assessing cyber risk, identifying mission sets, and defending missions in federal, DoD, or USG environments.
  • 2-3 years applying cybersecurity requirements, understanding AF Cyber architecture, and willingness to travel at least 40%.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint; security training certifications.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Network Vulnerability Engineering and familiarity with DoD, AF, DISA, NIST, NIAP, and USG processes.
  • Experience with DoD approved scanning tools (e.g., ACAS), Microsoft SCCM & MECM, and endpoint security products.

Note: Travel up to 40% to the INDOPAC Region is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to access and analyze data from SIPRNet and NIPRNet vulnerability tools; knowledge of vulnerability management processes, USAF TTPs, USCYBERCOM directives, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with HBSS, ePolicy Orchestrator, ACAS/Tenable.sc, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership qualities, organizational awareness, and problem-solving capabilities.
