Job Summary

The Construction Specialist II, Construction, is a mid-level role within the Facilities Department, responsible for executing in-house construction projects on a private estate. Under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, Construction, and in collaboration with team members, this role manages various building projects, including structural enhancements, renovations, and maintenance. It requires expertise in construction techniques, safety compliance, and efficient project delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and developing construction projects, including creating material lists and measurements (5%)
  • Execute construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and timely completion (80%)
  • Maintain workshop areas, tools, and equipment (10%)
  • Handle administrative tasks such as purchasing and inventory management (5%)

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Participate in project planning and coordination
  • Manage all phases of construction, including demolition, site prep, framing, finishing, and roofing
  • Operate and oversee power tools and heavy equipment safely
  • Keep work areas, tools, and materials clean and organized
  • Assist with purchasing and inventory tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in current construction trends with solid foundational knowledge
  • Ability to interpret building plans and specifications accurately
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Skilled in measuring and calculating materials
  • Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence
  • Effective communication skills with vendors, suppliers, and team members
  • Valid driver's license required

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

  • Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting
  • Working in confined spaces and on ladders/step-stools
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Handling hazardous materials with proper PPE
  • Driving UTVs and full-size trucks with trailers
  • Operating machinery and heavy equipment

Salary Range: $42—$49 USD
