SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Program Director is primarily responsible for overseeing the operations of the programs. It involves overseeing and managing initiatives aimed at preventing and addressing programmatic needs. The Program Director plans, organizes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates services.

The Program Director is responsible for ensuring that referrals are promptly addressed, caseloads are managed properly, and program goals are achieved. The Program Director plans, organizes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the services provided. In addition, the Program Director supervises program staff and provides direct service backup as needed.

The responsibilities of the Program Director include developing and implementing programs that aim to prevent and intervene. This involves working closely with stakeholders such as government agencies, community organizations, and law enforcement to assess the needs of the community and plan effective programs. Additionally, the Program Director provides strategic direction and vision for the programs.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type

Other (Specify): Candidates should have knowledge of Department of Human Service Division, relevant programming, and supervisory experience in Social Work or related fields such as PsyD, PhD, LMHC, LMFT, and LCSW. Experience working with families facing issues related to child abuse, neglect, and mental health is essential. Additionally, applicants must possess a valid Hawaii State License in good standing

EXPERIENCE

Over four years, up to and including six years

Other (Specify): Over 2 years of administration and supervision. One-year post-master's experience and one year clinically supervised progressive work experience inclusive of residency, internship, or practicum in the care or treatment of youth in a mental health or educational setting.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Strong preference for candidate with experience and extensive knowledge of the Department of Human Services Ideal candidate has experience working with families within the DHS system and understands the barriers and challenges these families encounter while engaging in and receiving services from DHS system of providers. Must have strong organizational skills and ability to manage and lead a multi-island program staff. Will require occasional neighboring island and mainland travel

  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island

  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPR, CPI and/or van driving training as such training is necessary to ensure ability/continued ability to perform essential functions of this job
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract mandated.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes
