Job Title: Assistant Mechanical Project Manager – HVAC & Plumbing

Job Summary

We seek a motivated and detail-driven Assistant Mechanical Project Manager to support commercial HVAC and plumbing projects across Honolulu and beyond. What You'll Do

  • Support project managers in overseeing day-to-day operations on commercial mechanical projects—from preconstruction to final punch list.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Helped manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, and close-out packages.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and internal teams to ensure projects stay on track and meet expectations.
  • Attend site walks and construction meetings and support field teams in solving real-time challenges.
  • Review mechanical plans and specifications and assist in tracking compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Contribute to a safety, accountability, and continuous improvement culture on every job site.
  • As you become more responsible, gain exposure to project forecasting, purchasing, and cost tracking.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience is required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical construction.
  • Strong interest in commercial mechanical systems and how projects come together from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills — you're proactive, thorough, and easy to work with.
  • A passion for learning, growing, and taking on increasing responsibility as part of a team.
