Project Engineer I Job ID: 2025-6399Number of Openings: 1Category: OtherLocation: Kamakee, 515 Kamakee Street, US-HI-HonoluluSalary Range: USD $64,430.00 - $80,537.00 per yearOverview Purpose Statement: Under general supervision, performs on standard projects or phases of major projects; consults with supervisor routinely.Responsibilities Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Performs all engineering requirements of assigned projects including development and design of gas service specifications, evaluation of proposed installations for compliance, technical recommendations, cost estimates, approval processes, budget management, and regulatory submissions.Assists other departments and branches in interpreting codes and regulations, provides expertise for new business projects, mains, services, and LPG tank installations. Conducts analytical and special studies on engineering proposals and field requirements.Provides technical assistance to architects, engineers, consultants, and developers. Helps customers with gas system design and troubleshooting. Reviews construction plans to avoid conflicts with existing gas networks. Coordinates with contractors near buried gas facilities and responds to plan review requests from other utilities and stakeholders.Prepares company standards, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with federal and local codes.Enforces safety rules, provides a safe work environment, and reports unsafe acts or conditions.Keeps up-to-date with technological changes in the industry and collaborates to implement improvements.Other Responsibilities: Adheres to all Hawaii Gas policies and procedures.Maintains a clean and safe work environment; performs housekeeping duties as required.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and education.One to two years of performance as Staff Engineer or four years total engineering experience; PE license may substitute experience.Knowledge of NFPA 58, UFC, City and County Plumbing Codes, 49 CFR 192.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), MS Project.Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license.Preferred Education/Experience: Experience in construction or consulting engineering.Experience with GIS and/or CADD.Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineering license.Skills and Competencies: Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.High integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and team orientation.Effective communication skills (verbal and written).Adaptability to change and a professional demeanor.Working Conditions: Standard office environment.Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
