Minimum Qualifications

The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks highly qualified teachers. A Bachelor's Degree is required for most teaching, librarian, or counselor positions, except designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) roles.

If hired without a completed Teacher's Education Program, you have up to 3 years to obtain a Hawaii teaching license. It is your responsibility to ensure your program aligns with your teaching line.
