Responsibilities

  • Support Verizon's global talent assessment and selection through consultation and project leadership, including development of talent assessment solutions, assessment technology implementation, interview design, job analysis, validation analyses, competency modeling, and ensuring legal compliance of selection practices.

Key Duties

  • Lead large-scale cross-functional projects to develop selection tools based on job analysis and competency modeling.
  • Manage validation studies to maximize assessment value.
  • Oversee technical strategy and execution of pre-hire assessment programs, including partnering with technology teams for assessment configuration, ATS integrations, and testing policies.
  • Support internal stakeholders by aligning assessment strategies with business needs and serving as an expert resource.
  • Manage assessment and selection vendors.
  • Handle large datasets, report on assessment data, and analyze applicant and employee data.
  • Ensure assessments comply with legal and professional standards.
  • Develop guidelines, processes, training, and communication materials for assessment tools.
  • Contribute to HR transformation projects as needed, such as Talent GPS, Project Aurora, and Work Forward.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or four+ years of work experience.
  • Six+ years of relevant experience in selection, assessment, or talent management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Master's in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related fields.
  • Consulting experience in selection and assessment.
  • Experience managing large-scale selection projects in HR.
  • Strong understanding of employee selection tools, validation, and related practices.
  • Experience developing structured interview guides.
  • Knowledge of employment testing standards (e.g., OFCCP, SIOP, APA).
  • Excellent project management, critical thinking, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Excel, Google Sheets.
  • Experience with Workday, R, SPSS, SAS, or similar statistical tools.

Work Location & Schedule

This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and onsite work, requiring at least 8 days/month at a Verizon location. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $101,500 - $194,000 (varies by location). Benefits include health, wellness, 401(k), stock options, holidays, personal days, parental leave, tuition assistance, and more. Verizon is an equal opportunity employer.
