Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually

The Maintenance Director oversees the planning, organization, development, and management of maintenance, repair, and housekeeping operations within the community. This role ensures the property is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable condition, in accordance with property policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing mechanical work and self-teaching to operate equipment such as washers, dryers, refrigeration, heating units, ice machines, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and painting.
  • Electrical duties: Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues including lighting, switches, receptacles, wiring, and resident call systems.
  • Structural duties: Planning, ordering, and installing cabinets, repairing drywall, plywood, and structural elements.
  • Painting duties: Planning and executing interior and exterior painting, ensuring proper disposal of materials according to EPA guidelines.
  • Plumbing duties: Repairing faucets, showers, drains, and other plumbing-related issues.
  • Conducting daily inspections of the property grounds and addressing any issues to maintain tour readiness.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferably two years of experience in maintenance, building industry, or housekeeping, with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and structural maintenance
  • Preferably one year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to operate equipment safely
  • Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care theories is a plus
  • Patient interaction skills and ability to work with seniors and cognitively impaired individuals
  • Flexibility, adaptability, decision-making skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Must pass criminal background, health screening, physical, and TB tests
  • Compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols, including vaccination, testing, and PPE use, as required by regulations.
