Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually

The Maintenance Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical plant of the community to maintain proper operations of the property. They will oversee the maintenance and housekeeping departments to ensure the property is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner in accordance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate mechanical ability and/or capability of self-teaching to work on equipment such as washers/extractors, dryers, refrigeration, heating units, ice machines, minor plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and painting.
  • Electrical Duties: Troubleshoot, identify, and repair electrical issues including lighting, switches, receptacles, wiring, resident call systems, and equipment.
  • Structural Duties: Plan, order, and install cabinets, perform carpentry repairs, and structural repairs as needed.
  • Painting Duties: Plan, order, and perform interior and exterior painting, ensuring proper disposal of materials per EPA guidelines.
  • Plumbing Duties: Perform minor plumbing repairs such as faucets, showers, and drains.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the grounds and address any issues to keep the property tour-ready.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer 2 years experience in maintenance or building industry, handling electrical, plumbing, and structural tasks
  • Prefer 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to operate equipment safely
  • Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care theories (or ability to learn)
  • Patience and ability to work with seniors and cognitively impaired individuals
  • Flexibility, decision-making skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Pass criminal background check and health screenings, including TB tests
