General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing a range of tasks across store areas as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
  • Create a safe shopping environment by maintaining awareness and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Provide courteous service, greet customers, assist with merchandise, and handle questions professionally.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and resolve issues courteously, involving management when necessary.
  • Support the Ross brand and perform cleaning duties to maintain store hygiene.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  • Ensure merchandise is organized and replenished promptly, and assist with receiving new merchandise.
  • Understand loss prevention policies and safeguard store assets.
  • Follow policies for transactions, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Work efficiently, minimizing steps, and maximizing productivity.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Effective communication with customers, colleagues, and leadership.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of time on feet.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, lift, and perform other physical tasks as required.
