The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) is seeking a Chief of Water System Operations (Program Administrator) in Honolulu. This leadership role oversees the Water System Operations Division, responsible for water distribution across the BWS system, including regulation, diversion, storage, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications equipment. The position ensures compliance with water quality standards, safeguards facilities, and manages emergency responses.

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or related field. Work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, provided it demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills.
Foreign degrees must be comparable to U.S. degrees, with appropriate evaluation and documentation.
Five years of registered professional experience in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, including two years involving water systems and pumping machinery, plus three years in an administrative role. Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, system evaluation, maintenance, regulations, and effective leadership is required.
Current Hawaii professional civil, electrical, or mechanical engineer license, or out-of-state license with the intent to obtain Hawaii licensure. A valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile) is also required.
