Maintains general understanding about the contract, bid assumptions (how the contract was bid), plans, specifications, DBE's, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
Participates in planning and scheduling process and can establish simple project schedules.
Facilitates discussions and creates solutions between field and the agencies/construction managers.
Consistently refers to schedules to ensure quality work is done on time.
Coordinates and participates in team meetings, focusing on schedule key agenda items.
Utilizes and interprets the schedule to determine extensions or acceleration due to impacts of weather, change orders, delays, etc.
Responsible for all contractual documentation, including correspondence, daily reports, weekly progress, drawings, submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, payment requests, and invoices.
Oversees the surveying functions of the projects, including pre-job, post-job surveys, logs, and GPS modeling.
Has a thorough understanding of contract payment terms; prepares applications for payment promptly and accurately, and follows up to ensure timely payments and release of retention.
Reviews, inputs, and monitors job quantities needed for cost accounting systems and applications for payment.
Coordinates and schedules submittal data such as drawings, photos, material certificates, and test reports in a timely manner.
Advises the Project Team of potential contract changes and promptly notifies the owner/agency in writing of any changes as per contract.
Coordinates with public utility companies to secure necessary permits before work begins.
Involved in developing the Site Logistics Plan before the start of work.
Prepares temporary traffic control plans that meet agency requirements and project needs.
Develops plans like paving plans to assist in project scheduling and communicate the work plan effectively to the Field and Project Team.
Maintains accountability for project safety and assists in executing a comprehensive safety program.
Ensures equipment is used safely, planning critical lifts and maximizing equipment utilization.
Creates a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Coordinates the project closeout process according to operational procedures.
Grows familiarity with and understands standard specifications and requirements of various agencies.
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and company policies, including environmental and safety regulations, and ensures compliance.
Works independently to complete tasks timely.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Minimum of two years' experience at the Construction Engineer I level or related, or a Master of Science degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate.
