Curriculum Director Upper Campus

Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Design and implement curriculum and ensure curriculum guidelines are functionally integrated throughout the Middle-High School. To consult with other curriculum specialists and educational leaders to encourage the curriculum renewal process. To promote the understanding that curriculum extends beyond the classroom to encompass all learning activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage Curriculum Decisions and Documents.
  • Facilitate the generation of and decision-making regarding the Master Course Schedule.
  • Assist principals in managing the faculty Professional Development Program.
  • Coordinate faculty In-Service Training.

OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach at least one class per semester, as needed.
  • Fulfill Administrator responsibilities.
  • Attend regularly scheduled and special meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Spiritual : Must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his/her life and demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ as described in "The Baptist Faith and Message", the tenets of the Southern Baptist denomination.
  • Skills/Knowledge : Knowledge of Action Research, Constructivist Theory, and Adolescent Needs and Development. Organizational and computer skills, including generating documents, managing online applications, and analyzing data. Effective communication skills, including digital presentations and instruction. Willing to learn and lead in applying new systems, such as learning management systems. Ability to work with a variety of people; a team player.
  • Education/Training : Masters of Education degree (preferably in Curriculum and Instruction) or a Bachelor's degree with secondary school teaching experience.
  • Experience : Minimum of three (3) years teaching at the secondary level. Supervision of teachers.
