This position is a Hawaiian Immersion Preschool teaching position, and being fluent in Hawaiian Language is required.
The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers in every classroom. The minimum qualification to apply for a teacher, librarian, or counselor position is a Bachelor's Degree, with exceptions for designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions.
If hired without a completed Teacher's Education Program, you have up to 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license. You must enroll in a program to continue employment and demonstrate active pursuit of Hawaii licensing requirements annually, as set by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB). It is your responsibility to ensure the program aligns with your teaching line.
Upon hire, you will need a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit. You may apply for your license on the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board Website.
