The Department of Information Technology Management, University of Hawai'i at Manoa (Honolulu, Hawai'i) invites applicants for the position of Instructor. This is a non-tenure track, permanent, full-time, 9-month faculty appointment with a target start date of August 1, 2025 subject to position clearance and availability of funds.

The Department of ITM is one of four departments and two schools within the Shidler College of Business. ITM faculty contribute to the curriculum for the undergraduate BBA, MIS major, Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and PhD programs at the college. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credits per semester of courses in the business core curriculum (BUS) and in the ITM curriculum at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Provide service to the Department, College, and University.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience teaching business-oriented quantitative methods and information systems courses at the university level.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in university-level course instruction.
  • Pedagogical knowledge for both online and in-person instruction.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Desirable Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. degree or scholarly academic status (as defined by AACSB guidelines) in a relevant discipline.
  • A demonstrated track record of curriculum development in information systems and/or quantitative analysis courses at the university level.
  • Interest in advancing instructional pedagogy in information systems for both online and in-person teaching formats.
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate education and to aligning educational programs with IT workforce opportunities and industry demand.
  • Industry experience and an established business network to support and mentor MSIS students on their Capstone projects.
  • Interest in and potential to collaborate on research with faculty in the ITM department.
